His defending reminds me of Stewart Downing, always in position where he doesn’t have to put a foot in, and runs away from their attackers.

For a long periods last season he was our best player. He was also one of the few who didn't get injured.
This season for whatever reason he never even got going, I count one performance against Norwich. Just one in a whole season.

You cannot keep rewarding poor performances. He cannot start.
